1. Black: Name a series that’s tough to get into but has hardcore fans.
Anything by Sarah J.Maas. Throne of Glass is 5 almost 6 books long. I have to read 5 books just to get to the new release for this year. UGH. I’m totally intimidated by it. And the Court of Thorns books are just giant!! I have read the first one but still need to read A court of Mist and Fury. Which seems to be everyone’s favorite. And this author has some HARDCORE fans. They are all about their Maas. I need to finally read these books so I can be hardcore too.
2. Peppermint mocha: Name a book that gets more popular during the winter or a festive time of year.
The Dash and Lily books, My True Love Gave to Me, and also Harry Potter. All of these are ridiculously popular during the holidays. I was thinking the other day, Stephanie Perkins needs to make another short story collection, like My True Love Gave to Me, but with Valentines Day stories. That’s a holiday. And I love the movie Valentines Day. See? It already sounds like a solid plan.
3. Hot chocolate: What is your favorite children’s book?
The first series I remember reading as a child was The Dear America books. I started with Felicity because the first one came with my Felicity doll. This was where my love of history began. I remember trying to collect all the books. But I totally recommend this series.
4. Double shot of espresso: Name a book that kept you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.
Lost Girls by Merrie Destefano which came out Tuesday totally kept me on edge the entire time. Like I might have needed some deep breathing when I was done. But it was worth the thrills. Check out my review here.
5. Starbucks: Name a book you see everywhere.
Heartless by Marissa Meyer. It’s everywhere. Every store has it on display. Everyone online is showing off their copy. Goodness gracious. I still haven’t read it. I was kinda meh with the Lunar Chronicles series so I’m iffy about this. Plus I have a lot and I mean A LOT of Alice and Wonderland fractured fairy tales on my TBR. It’s hard to wade through and decide which are best.
6. That hipster coffee shop: Give a book by an indie author a shout out
This is a great YA paranormal urban fantasy romance written by a twitter acquaintance. She is pretty rad and so is this book.
7. Oops! I accidentally got decaf: Name a book you were expecting more from.
It’s so freaking pretty guys!! It’s not fair that the insides didn’t match. I was bored bored bored. And just..lkjsfhsdfj. So frustrated. There is this undeaftable beast. And the countries have to come together to defeat it. But between the two points of view you rarely see action. I DNF-ed around 100 pages. It made me so sad but… there are other books.
8. The perfect blend: Name a book or series that was both bitter and sweet but ultimately satisfying.
I know everyone is talking about this book but y’all. Stop denying yourself the journey of a lifetime and jump on this train. Read this book. So so good! I wasn’t even a fan of science fiction and I still loved this novel.
