Hello friends and book lovers! Today is Top Ten Tuesday! Today’s lovely topic is books I am most excited about in the first half of 2017. There are some stinkin’ fantastic books coming out next year but here are just 1o books that I am uber excited about. Top Ten Tuesday was created by thebrokeandbookish. Go check her blog out. Here we go!
10. You Don’t Know My Name by Kristen Orlando.
Reagan switches identities regularly. She knows all about weaponry and was raised learning mortal combat. She is expected to follow in the footsteps of her parents who are spies. Sounds like pretty cool book. Comes out January 10th
9. Dark Breaks the Dawn by Sara Rasch
I recently read and adored Snow Like Ashes by Sara Rasch. She wrapped up that series in 2016. This new book is the first in a trilogy about princesses, evil kings, and shapeshifters. We all know how much I love royalty stories with bad ass princesses. Adding shapeshifters is like cool whip on top. Comes out May 30th
8. Frostblood by Elly Blake.
Elementals anybody? This is about a girl who is a fireblood in a world where frostbloods rule. Sounds kinda like Red Queen, which I hated. But I love people that can control the elements so hopefully it will go better. There’s a lot of hype for this Jan 10th release. I hope it lives up to the excitement.
7. One Of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus
Blurbed as Pretty Little Liars meets The Breakfast Club, this new release is a must read for me. Compared to two of my favorite films/shows? Um Yes please. Mystery? Yes Yes! This book releases May 50th.
6. Valiant by Leslie Livingston
All you had to say was lady gladiators and I’m sold. This releases Feb 14th. What What!!
5. Long May She Reign by Rhiannon Thomas
So a) the main character’s name is Freya. She was 23rd in line for the throne, yet finds her way to that seat anyway. There is a murder plot and escapades. Basically it’s typical YA fantasy. Confession: I am typical YA fantasy TRASH. This lovely comes out Feb 21st.
4. Avenged by Amy Tintera
Which brings me to this sequel. I read “Ruined” by Amy Tintera this year. It was the first in a trilogy. It got mediocre reviews because it wasn’t unique and played off YA fantasy cliches. I loved it so much and this my friends is it’s sequel to be released May 2nd. *Waiting not so patiently*
4. A List of Cages by Robin Roe
A mental health books. Who would’ve thought that one of these might end up on my list. But this one is getting great reviews from friends. Plus the main character has ADHD, something I can definitely relate to. I won’t have to wait too long as it comes out Jan 10th
2.Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones
This is a retelling of The Goblin King. I love this fairy tale and the idea of goblins both intrigue me and terrify me. I cannot wait to dig into this novel.
And finally, for the last one.
1. To Catch A Killer by Sheryl Scarborough
I honestly don’t know how this got the number one spot except to say that I’ve heard multiple people compare it to Veronica Mars. And I’m a marshmellow guys. (show reference.) VMars is my inspiration. She inspires to be snarcastic. And if this book is half as good as her show than I will love it!
Well I hope that you guys enjoyed my list. Let me know if you did Top Ten Tuesday or if you’re excited for any of these books. I’ll talk to you guys in the comments. Have a blessed day!
A List of Cages is my most anticipated January release. Seeing as how I have ADD which is similar to ADHD I feel like I’ll be able to connect with the MC on a more personal level.
